Oran T. Lewis, is an Adjunct Instructor with over 30 years experience in the erection, maintenance, inspection, fabrication, modification and repair of pressure and piping equipment, as well as presenting education courses for piping inspection, weld and pressure equipment inspection. His certifications are, in order of obtainment, National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector Authorized Inspector, AWS Certified Welding Inspector, API 510 Certified Pressure Vessel Inspector, API 570 Certified Piping Inspector, NACE Level 1 Corrosion.

Each chapter discusses a different facet of this phenomenon, from the revolution in retail camera shops, to the blizzard of socially constructive how-to manuals, and to the vocabulary of popular aesthetics that developed from enthusiasts sharing photos. Ross looks at the quotidian activities that went into the entire picture-making process, activities not typically understood as photographic in nature, such as shopping for a camera, reading photography magazines, and even preserving one's pictures in albums. These very activities, promoted and sponsored by the industry, embedded the camera in everyday life as both a consumer object and a technology for understanding modernity, making it the irresistible enterprise that Eastman encountered in his first visit to Japan in 1920 when he remarked that the Japanese people were "almost as addicted to the Kodak habit as ourselves."

Whew! From Gangster to Prophet...

Before Redemption is a VERY engaging story. It reminds me of the story of Saul who became Paul. As Paul received Jesus' forgiveness of his sins, he was able to boldly state "I have killed/wronged No Man."

This story centers around Dino and Nikki. Dino a club owner/gangster and Nikki (who was abandoned at the tender age of 13) a self-proclaimed business woman selling tapes on the street corner. For whatever reason, Dino developed a "soft spot" for Nikki and feels responsible for her well-being and Nikki has a "school girls' crush on the handsome club owner. Sounds like the beginnings of a beautiful relationship - right? Not!

Life isn't that easy; Dino is married with a child on the way and war has been declared when Dino's club becomes a target of gunfire. Losing everything dear to him (and I mean everything), Dino is set on revenge and settling the score. Just when Dino is about to do some things that will take him to a point of no return - GOD SHOWS UP! Not only does God show up but things REALLY get interesting as you see the transformation from Gangster to Prophet.

As for Nikki, she runs away and takes with her a secret. Feeling like no one has ever loved her and that "church" folks are hypocrites, Nikki is determined to not have to rely on anyone other than herself.

Sixteen years later, the two cross paths again. What in the world is God up to? Yummy, yummy, yummy. Don't you know that 16 years to God is a second out of a day? God has a plan for these two strong willed, broken individuals and its a ride you won't soon forget!

This story has it all, murder, guilt, lies, deception, anger, fear, sex, and "church folks" hee, hee, hee! I found myself seriously multi-tasking, i.e., vacumming and reading, washing the dishes and reading and just plain 'ole sitting on my bum and reading. I could not put this book down. There is a part where it became a bit redundant (how good can a person be?) or should I say "over the top", thus my four-star rating, but when I completed the story (purchased Friday evening and done on Sunday), I was heart broken.

Buy It!!!!!!!!!! You will truly get a natural high and thirst for more.

For whatever reason, businessman, gangster Dino Cochran was always protective of eighteen year old Nikki Lucas when she was selling tapes outside of his nightclub. Nikki had such a crush on Dino that it led to a one night stand with the married bad-boy.

Dino having suffered through the deaths of his pregnant wife and friend found himself near the breaking point when the corner preacher, Billy Graham saves him from a true life of crime.

After sixteen years, Dino is now Bishop Walter Dean Cochran and Nikki now living in Florida with her sixteen year old son cross paths when Dino has to vist one of his churches in the Florida city of Monroe. Divine intervention or what?

Nikki's son is accused of murder and as in the past, Dino is there to provide help to her while standing up to church members that don't want to accept the changes he is making. Although, having turned his life around Dino still has some "rough around the edges" ways when it comes to having to deal with Nikki and other characters in the story.

This was such a great read that I will surely make it a top recommendation for my book club and to readers looking for Christian romance with an urban twist.

Loved this Book

I loved this book. Even though the female lead drove me a little crazy, I can understand her plight. To love someone for sixteen years and dedicate your life to him without his knowledge is just mind boggling. Nikki had been so used to doing things for herself for so long, that she never really wanted to accept help from anyone - even her son's father. Dino accepted Christ as his personal Savior after two major tragedies in his life and made that turn to do God's Will. It really was a very good book and I had a hard time putting it down, even while at work.

Excellent How-To resource

Good interviewing skills are essential for freelance writers. Ken Metzler's book, Creative Interviewing: The Writer's Guide to Gathering Information by Asking Questions, is an excellent source for learning how to conduct an interview and improving your interviewing techniques.

Did you know that most interviews happen in ten stages? Mr. Metzler explains, "Face-to-Face interviews usually, though not always, run through ten stages. Four stages occur before you even meet your respondent. The success of the six subsequent ones depends largely on how well you accomplish the first four."

Required reading for serious journalism students

This book shows you how to conduct just about every type of interview. It also explains concepts, helps the journalist devise a plan and more importantly provides key information on how to cope with the "difficult interview." In my opinion, "The Writer's Guide to Gathering Information by Asking Questions: Creatinve Interviewing," by Ken Metzler should be required reading for serious journalism students everywhere.
"The need for interviewing skills is by no means confined to newspaper writers," according to the author. And I agree. The corporate world is always interviewing...they are always on the look for new talent. In many cases, they need to be better than simply ask, "where do you want to be in five years."
Believe or not there truly are many typical errors you want to avoid when interviewing. To this end, you will find a healthy discussion on how to avoid mistakes here. Moreover, this book will help you navigate the tricky interview process. Chapters two and three are terrific. Chapter two outlines the ten stages of the interview. And chapter three covers the conversational dynamics of interviewing. This book even includes a chapter on interviewing excercises.
All in all this book is a valuable tool for everyone interested in making journalism a profession. The gathering of information in journalism is primarily done by oral means. About the Author
John Gould is the author of two books of very short stories, most recently Kilter, which was a finalist for the Giller Prize and a Globe and Mail Best Book. His fiction has appeared in literary periodicals across the country and has been adapted for short films. He has written freelance non-fiction and has worked as an environmental researcher, tree planter, carpenter and arts administrator. He teaches in the writing department at the University of Victoria and serves on the editorial board of The Malahat Review.

Lewis is Professor of Ancient History in the University of Oxford.

David M. Lewis holds a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh. He is the author of several articles on slavery in Greek society and economy, and has published in journals such as Classical Quarterly and Historia: Zeitschrift fur alte Geschichte.

Ezra and Lex are back. This book will have you crying, laughing, and biting your fingernails. Ezra fights to get back with Lex. Not in his normal domineering style either. Oh, he's still a beast. The beast is in love. And it's hot! However, the beast was brought to his knees in the last book and remains there for a little while. And I loved it. I'm team Ezra all day, but Lex was redeemed in this book. She became a wife - in the truest sense of the word.

Tragedy strikes, and then the truths about his and her past comes to light. They struggle at times. Some very real moments of despair. Lex stands by her man and uplifts him like a good wife should. She becomes so much more in this book.

Quite a bit of unresolved drama trickled over from the last book, but we have all of our questions answered in 'Bonded with Ezra.'
Nothing is left up in the air. We find the answers about Precious, Rasul, and the painful attack. There are some surprises and lots of heartwarming moments.

And...of course the sex is off the charts!

Throughout the book I found myself rooting and angry at both Lex and Ezra. They each make mistakes, but their mistakes are clouded with love and what love does to you. It confounds you at times. Both are stubborn, at times missing the words and actions of love being made by the other.

Anyway, this was an epic ending to an already epic story. It ends with a HEA.

Love Belvin delivered in the final chapter of Ezra and Lex. She did the impossible with this series. She made me love them more.

Ezra is still Ezra, but now the beast is in love.
Lex is still Harlem World. Tough, sweet and gritty.
Jealous lover - Ezra is hot!
The sex if still off the chain! HOT!

This is a true love story.

I'm in love with this series!!!!!! LEX AND EZRA

I will say thus far this is my favorite series!! OMG!! I fell in love with Ezra even though he was controlling his character was real intriguing and that's what drew me to him. Too bad it's fictional almost felt like I needed to go find and pray for my Ezra. I loved Lex being an independent woman who wasn't going to let those devilish people destroy her and she stood her ground. I just love their covenant with one another but they have grown tremendously from not knowing one another but being committed to each other. Please give us another series I don't know if I can read other books after this one Lol!!! MUST Read!!

As Issac Haynes once said, He's a complicated man but nobody understands him but his woman!" Well he isn't Shaft...but he's got a solid foundation with God, swag, and he's undoubtedly interesting. I simply loved this book. Ezra relinquish control and humbled himself to acknowledge his love for Lex. Lex allowed herself to focus on herself and not her father, her friends and her past. They found each other in this book and in turn found the keys to everlasting love.

Accessible, Intelligent, Simple, and Useful- A Great Find

As a new Language Arts teacher, I am always looking for something that is relevant without being tedious or cumbersome. This workbook does just that. It is accessible, interesting, and covers the basics without worrying about nonsensical terminology that students will never actually use. The ideas presented are clear and concise in a way that it could easily be integrated into any academic unit as a way to teach, or even remind, students how to properly use the English language in a way that makes them sound intelligent without drowning them in rules and boring fluff. This is the kind of book that I look forward to using in my classroom simply because it's unlike any other I've yet come across. The grammar workbooks from my high school days weighed about 30 pounds, had about 500 pages, and seemed entirely foreign to me. This, however, gives students bite-size pieces that can easily be ingested and put into practice. What more could a teacher ask for?

A Good Reminder

I got this because I am On the Pathways BYU Idaho Online Program. And It is not required to have a book but since it had the option. So I figured why not get it. Totally worth it. I could always use a reminder on the basics. And I can do all I can with it while I Study. It's Smaller/ thiner than I expected, But IT has all the basics anyone needs to remember from language/reading.

Most people who need a grammar refresher have been inundated with stacks of data that buries their meager hopes for ever learning grammar. This workbook is to the point, and then with the exercises after the lessons, it is an ideal text for refresher grammar. What I love about this book is that it is doable, yet it covers all of the basics. Nicely done.

The M41 Walker Bulldog was a U.S. light tank developed to replace the M24 Chaffee. While the M24 Chaffee was a successful design, its main gun was not effective enough against well armored opposition. Although the primary mission of a light tank was scouting, the U.S. Army wanted one with more powerful armament. The development of the new tank, T37, began in 1947. The vehicle was designed to be air-transportable, and the desired anti-tank capabilities were provided by installing a long 76-mm gun with an advanced rangefinder. In 1949, with the adoption of a less ambitious rangefinder, the project's designation was changed to T41. Production started in 1951 at Cadillac's Cleveland Tank Plant, and by 1953 the tank replaced the M24 in the United States Army. Initially the M41 was nicknamed "Little Bulldog", then renamed "Walker Bulldog" after General Walton Walker, who was killed in a jeep accident in Korea in 1950. The Walker Bulldog saw limited combat with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, but for the most part, the conflict served as a testing ground to work out the tank's rangefinder. In 1954, the M41A1 variant was produced with a hydraulic turret traverse instead of an electrical one. The more compact system allowed for increased ammunition. Created in 1956, this field manual reveals a great deal about the M41 and M41A1’s design and capabilities. Intended as a manual for those charged with operation and maintenance, it details the sighting equipment, crew formations, firing duties and more. Originally labeled restricted, this manual was declassified long ago and is here reprinted in book form. Care has been taken to preserve the integrity of the text.

Army FM for M41 Bulldog

This is an Army Field Manual for the M41 Bulldog. It is no longer in service, so the manual is really useless to the average person looking for a coffee table book about tanks - unless you happen to be a tank buff and enjoy looking at the typical military instruction manual given to the crews of the M41.

Make no mistake. This is not a history book about the M41, it is a paperback repro of the original FM. If you understand what that means, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.
