The one overlooked area of focus in the discipline of Project Management is communications, which I believe to be the most important skill a top PM must possess. Having a book written from that perspective is invaluable because it shows you how to be successful. If you can keep your Customers and stakeholders informed, the easier it is to manage risks and even surprises. It also stimulates trust which is another critical element of a Projects dynamics. This book optimizes my chances of success in whatever PMO/Org I am working in. At my company, we recently started to practice Agile Methodology so it was great to see that addressed in the book. Maybe even more so that traditional waterfall models Agile requires GREAT communication skills and abilities. Additionally, we have a corporate Intranet Social Media tool we use to collaborate, share, etc. much like the public ones. Having some concrete examples of how to use Communication to a projects advantage were really appreciated. I keep this book close by and refer to it frequently for ideas & examples that are easy to implement and effective in my projects. Thank you for the insights! This book is worth its weight in gold.

Excellent book covering a wide variety of communication tools and techniques across all ten PMBOK knowledge areas and the full project lifecycle. Pretty hefty but well written and easy to read. Includes ideas on incorporating social media into project communication. Introduces the concept of project BI, which integrates disparate project data sources to create a single scorecard, the goal being to give executives, customers, team members a way to quickly interpret, understand, and act on project information to improve the project’s chance of success.

Quest for the Mead of Poetry is a translation and interpretation of seven Icelandic tales. In search for the meaning of a dream in which she was given a silver necklace by a poet, the author happened upon the key to hidden layers of her ancestral heritage.

That key was Br�singamen, a legendary necklace that belonged to Freyja, goddess of love and fertility. Hallfridur J. Ragnheidardottir is a poet and a dreamworker with M.A. in Icelandic literature. In her master's thesis she explored her mythological heritage through the lens of Jungian psychology. It was the beginning of an adventurous journey in search of her own music. In this book, she gives voice to her passion for myth, dreams, tarot and poetry. From 1970 her life has been divided between New York and Reykjavik, where she and her husband have now settled. Their son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons live in New York, keeping alive the connection between the two cities.
