By story's end, her Fomori allies and her own sorcerous powers have conquered Jaun and she has become Empress of a peaceful new Imperium. The next volume in Kennealy's vigorous, colorful but convoluted Celtic pastiche will be a prequel to The Copper Crown.

A must read for Celtic romantics

A fully imagined universe, with the story centered around a celtic society that is frankly too good to be true, but nevertheless quite entertaining. Especially fun if you have an exposure to Irish history and mythology.

This Whole Series Rocks!

Loved it! This book proves what many readers know but seldom see; a book CAN have complex characters and plot; one doesn't have to be sacrificed for the other. Plus detailed cultures, and lots of action. You get a real FEEL for the places and the people. Character and location names were a bit difficult, but don't let that faze you; read it!
